Drilling Rig Collapse
Not really post worthy but its something you dont see everyday. We take this road atleast once or twice a week, seen the rig as it was rigging up and seen it after it fell.

They lost circulation and the pipe got stuck. 1 of 2 things happened. Things to know. Every rig has the capability to actually pull itself in to the ground like this. Every rig has limit to how much weight they can pull. Also was told they had dome some welding on the derrick. So either the operator pulled past the weight the rig was was capable of handling or he was under the maximum weight the were they worked on the rig failed.

if the rig just collapsed on its own its not the drillers fault. To me I think the rig had just failed because if they were pulling pretty hard on the pipe they would have had the derrick hand get down.
