The New Hemi's Suck, My Freind Has A 04 Quad Cab With A Hemi And Some Exhaust, It Sounds Good, But I Used To Skull Drag Him When I Had Smaller Tires With My K&n Fipk And Asp Pulley. I Read In A Magazine Where They Dynoed A Regular Cab And It Only Got Around 265hp To The Wheels, definately Not That Impressive

Just thought I'd chime in on this one.
I owned a Dodge '04 QC SLT 4x4 for about a year before trading it in on my '05 GMC CC (2wd 5.3)
I didn't think that the bang for the buck was there. The truck really sucked a lot of gas, which wouldn't be too bad if it were putting out some better performance #'s. I was averaging about 10-11 mpg around town, and about 16 or so on the highway. (it had the 3.92 gears) Granted it was 4 wheel drive and I expected fairly low economy, but it was a bit lower than I thought.
The motor did wake up a bit after 3,000 miles but it was minimal. The throttle by wire did have some dead spots throughout different rpm ranges, but a simple wire tie or "zip" tie on the throttle wire seemed to remove that problem.
The after market products are somewhat limited due to having a speed density system as opposed to a mass air system. Also, they are quite beefy, I believe mine weighed in at around 5600-5700 lbs. The quad cab doesn't have as much room as my new crew cab sierra, which is one of the reasons I went with the crew cab (couldn't fit my sons infant carrier seat in the dodge, just too cramped). So with the deals GM was running, I couldn't pass it up.
Oh,..... I'm new to the site so I would like to take this opportunity to say hi all. And I'm hoping to have that crew cab in the high 13's by next summer (or at least close to it.) It's nice to have so much support and products available in the aftermarket for the 5.3. Oh and one more thing, if you're considering the '06 or later dodge, I think they are going to have the cylinder de-actication.....like the chrysler 300c (4 cyclinders when cruising at highway speed) a custom tune with this feature might not be possible. I contacted Jessie at wait4me performance about a tune on my wifes Envoy Xl 5.3 which has the D.O.D. (displacement on demand, same as the chrysler 300C) he said he couldn't do a tune with that system.............just something to keep in mind.
