Default "excessive acceleration" ticket

never have i heard of such bullcrap, but i was awarded with this ticket last Saturday at cruisin the coast. cops were every where in Biloxi, and one got me.

i was cruising with a friend, and i was behind him, about 4 lenghts. i had the cutouts open, just cruisin. well, i blipped the gas a bit to catch up, accelerated from maybe 20ish to about 35mph. here comes a dumbass cop!

tells me i sped up too quickly, and gave me a $125 ticket. what an ***. i NEVER spun the tires or broke the speed limit, which i think was 55 or so.

i am going to court in November to fight this dumbass ticket. hopefully i win, i cant see why i wouldnt.

i didnt do anything wrong.

I don't really know what to tell you because you draw attention (both negative and positive) when you have a modified vehicle. The only excuse you could use to get out of that ticket is too say you have a cut-out which makes it seems like you are accelerating faster than you are. Then you'll get an exhaust ticket. Pick your poison.

You had your cutouts open...I'm sure you did more than just "blip" the gas

Exhibition of acceleration - that was my first ticket...it was given to me by my dad

tell him you were excersizing your defensive driving skills? You had complete control over the vehicle, you had no choice but to accelerate at an acceptable level to protect yourself and other drivers. You kept under the speed limit and the weather conditions were acceptable for that type of driving manuver in your expert opinion of driving your specific vehicle.

just ask what specific requirements are needed to warrant the ticket. And then ask for the radar or laser proof of what your speed was from what speed to what speed.
