i live in texas and will call bullshit on you. if they are in your house they are fair game if they pose a threat to you (which in most cases if they are in your houes you can claim self defense as long as you dont shoot them in the back as they try to run out)

A friend of mine once got jumped by a large group of his ex-girlfriend's male buddies. He ran away, they chased him. This guy's like 5'6" and 130 soaking wet. He ran up to a cop car at a stop sign and yelled, "Help, those guys are gonna kill me!" to which the cop replied, "Good luck with that." and drove off. Cops (and priests) join their profession for either all the right reasons, or all the wrong reasons. I've come across both kinds of cops. You probably had a delay because they were writing people up for talking on the phone while driving, window tint, or some other useless law like that. Good job on chasing the guy away. He and his friends won't bother you ever again I'm sure.

Bottom line is this, helping people does not generate revenue, writing tickets for BS does!
It's a vicious cycle, they need to write more tickets to create revenue to justify hiring more cops to create more revenue. A self perpetuating bullshit scenario that has little to no impact on true crime.
Kind of like amoebas except they don't collect money, they directly affect their host!! Wait, exactly the same!! LOL
