It's Dead
Well it was out there this morning about 50yrds on a tree limb just making a racket. I went and cocked the rifle, loaded a Gamo Master point pellet, opened the screen door and took sight.
Inhale and calm exhale, steady on target, squeezed the trigger and crack! the bird fluttered, feathers scattered and he was down. I took my camera to where I thought it would fall but it fell in some thick shrub behind the neighbors fence. I listened for a chirp or a sound of any kind and nothing.
The battle is over.
I am not happy that I took a life, even one as simple as the birds but I am glad it is over. His death was quick and painless. I will say a prayer for it's spirit.

I duck and goose hunt, I gotta tell ya...some geese take point blank shots and you feathers go every were and you think to yourself...HOW THE HELL IS THAT FUGGER FLYING AWAY. (then I bought a 10ga and put an end to that rucus)
Obviously regular birds are a tad fragile but they have a ton of small "puff" feather under the bigger stuff. It does go everywhere.

lol, I almost choked on the "celebrate" post, the wifey is looking at me like I'm a freak...no I am not going to tell her, I am used to that look.
I watched his location carefully fter the shot, it fell slowly and without a flutter. It may be stuck ontop of this this bush under the perch he was on but I doubt very much his heart is beating.
