Growing up without a cell phone

My cousin and I used to have to entertain ourselves at my grandparents house a couple weekends a month when I was growing up. Grandpa had this old peach tree that still put out fruit, but it was real nasty. So we found an old lamp cord and stuck it in the peaches and plugged the cord in. Dad wasn't pleased to come out and find the wall of the house covered in peach guts from when they exploded. That was well worth the beating after lol, most fun you could possibly have with a lamp cord I think

Did he beat you with the sticky old lamp cord?! Old folk know how to turn anything into a child beating device. That was back in the day there.
Bottled water... use the dang hose kid
screen door... slam that door and its your butt son!
Correction... there was a tv remote, it was the kid of the house.

Blhaha this funny reminds me of my child hood I grew up with my grandparents on the farm and I'm only 25 if you wanted something you worked all week to get it and if you didn't work hard at all you had to throw fire wood down in the basement day started a 6am and ended at 8 or 9 pm, fun was taking the 22 rifle out and shooting turtles out of the pond

Hmmmm I'm 56....we had black and white TV, party line phone (all neighbors listened in), no remote for TV (I was the remote for my Dad), no video games, no computers, etc. We had our bicycles and BB guns....and cardboard in the winter to slide in the snow hills on.

i guess it really sucks for you old farts then
i had all of this stuff available to me, but i would rather get out and do stuff when i was young. state champion BMX racer, shot pro archery at the age of 14, had 4 wheelers, hunted, camped, bought all my own cars, had a job when 14. i cant sit still long enough to enjoy a video game.
