Different calibration, heavier load, more abuse and both trucks referenced were under 10K. For the most part these motors are doing well from what Ive read, but there are a few internet documented failures out there. All in all I think theyre turning out to be decent motors.

I didn't get rid of my 11 sec 6.0 silverado I traded my wifes Ford Focus off on a 4X4 truck that I can use to pull my boat to the lake and take coyote hunting. and Yes I do think it will keep up with 85% of the LSx trucks out there. It towed 9000 lbs, 3 miles up a 6% grade 43 seconds faster the the NNBS 5.3 could...

Quit drinking all that ford koolade though. That was a 5.3 with 3.42s and the mileage on the "test" engine was engine dyno simulated mileage not actual mileage. Theyre good motors and to be honest if I had the cash and was in the market for a new half ton Id buy a CC 4wd platinum edition f150 with the ecoboost. I havent driven one yet but they seem to run great, but I think Id want to wait a bit longer to make sure these bum motors dont multiply exponentially with more mileage.

I did and they were both fine. Thanks for the tip. Its not to bad to get to through the fender well. I bought it from a dealer that my GOOD buddy wrenches at (he said he hadn't seen a loose one yet) and it got a better PDI then most that go out to the lot. I know how things work at the dealership. I deal with about 80-100 of them a day. We are actually in the process of reviewing and enforceing our PDI at work before warranty becomes valid. Too many dealers just check off the boxes and send it back, without ever even looking at the tractors...

Congrats on the new truck. I'd like for this motor to do well but for Ford to not do well...I'm so screwed up!!
