Default holy ball sack I need a diesel...

I pulled the cherokee in the sig up and back from Texas to Connecticut and our plan this time was to drop off the cherokee in storage and bring up the bronco since his f-250 got vandalized at our new apartment complex. pulling this from the lake to the shop was brutal... floored at 65 going up a hill and losing speed until ultimately ending up around 50 and watching out for the tranny not to downshift to 2nd. we decided we are not pulling this back up the mountains to CT. but this set up is only around 7500-8000lbs so much for the 9k lbs max towing from the factory! ( I realize the lift does not help btw lol)

I think the wind resistance is what is killing me the most, the cherokee tucks in a lot more than the bronco

5.3 or 6.0? I'd shoot myself if I floored my truck and lost speed.

yeah, I nearly killed myself towing with the 4.8. I can't even imagine how bad that little 5.3 is in that big heavy 4x4. I'm being dead honest when I say that the 6.0 in my 4600lb ECSB is barely adequate on the highway unloaded, doesn't tow that well at all for my standards. HirdleJ was right all along when he said that 364 c.i. is tiny.

i pulled a big box trailer from MS to Kentucky and the unaerodynamics sucked bad!! it weighed roughly 5000lbs so not to bad but the wind sucked.. turbos are nice never downshifted and its fun passing people goin up hill...

Diesels are nice, all our work trucks are diesels and we always have a trailer behind them 7-10k pounds. our 06 dodge 5.9 cummins sucks tho, 4speed kills it. can floor it goin 75 and it doesnt down shift, it slows down to about 65 and then it downshifts and speeds back up till it shifts into 3rd.

I miss my Dmax already, unless the setup in my sig tows 100% better than my roomates I/E/Tune Avalanche, the Z71 wont be around too long. You cant beat a diesel if you tow a lot like I do.

If you dont already, staying in 3rd tends to help quite a bit, and going uphill losing speed is just part of the game.

I miss towing 10K up a steep grade and not downshifting all while getting 13.5mpg running 70-75 on 35s
