Yeh, it bothers me when people make the 6.0L's out to be the say all to end all motors. They never will have big block torque unless you can get the cubes to match. Here's a well thought out 9:1 comp big block. 600+ ft lbs of torque on pump gas. Good luck doing that naturally aspirated with a 6L. Hell I'd be surprised if a 408 could do that........

Duramax is so nice for towing scaling in at 12,000 Pounds and still getting 20MPG doing 115KM/H doesn't down shift or nothing going up hills never lost speed once. Allison didn't even get hot (same temp as my 4L80E got city driving)

Seems like a lot of people focus on high rpm power around here, but me personally, the most fun vehicles Ive driven had a ton of low end TQ.

Dude, something is up. My 02 Z71, 5.3 LTs and ORY hauled a 7K uhaul trailer (biggest one they had, packed to the brim) from FL to NY without a problem. Not many hills, but once you get into delaware and southern NJ it starts to get hilly. The truck drove like there wasn't a trailer behind me, I was very impressed.

Best thing we ever did was get rid of the 06 5.3 and get the powerstroke. Now we need a bigger horse trailer and more horses cause the one we have seems almost non-existant behind the diesel. LOL.

Biggest issue we had at higher speeds was keeping the tranny from searching for gear.
