Im running 315's so close to 35's but the gears make up for it, Ive got 155k miles on her so I guess her age is starting to show a little bit. A couple years ago I had her loaded at 9500lbs hauling cement, had trouble getting up to speed but I never lost speed on any hills or anything. I think the wind resistance is killing me too much

My dad has a duramax and we both pulled trailers home from MN about the same weight "around 5000lbs" It was an 800 mile trip, he got 19 and I got 12. FML Mine downshifts so much through WI and his is a 6 spd and just leaves her in 6th the whole way home. I wish I had one sometimes.

Yeh, it bothers me when people make the 6.0L's out to be the say all to end all motors. They never will have big block torque unless you can get the cubes to match. Here's a well thought out 9:1 comp big block. 600+ ft lbs of torque on pump gas. Good luck doing that naturally aspirated with a 6L. Hell I'd be surprised if a 408 could do that........

my truck has 167K on it, last friday i pulled an 18 foot steel deck trailer with a 79 ford truck on it (rclb with a 460, weighs 6000 with no motor in it) to the track and had no problems what-so-ever. no problems with loosing speed, tranny never got over 150, i even raced an old POS ford from a light and pulled him by about 1/2 a truck to the next light.
