Default Home electrical-how to: New wiring on patio-2,3-way dimmer switches? how's it done?

I'm trying to wire up the lights on my patio. I have to run all the wires before I seal up the celing.

I have 8, 50w ceiling mounted lights.

I want to have a dimmer switch outside, and another inside. The 2 switches that I have are 3way dimmer switches.

I wired the 8 lights with 14g 2wire with ground

A new circuit is being pulled from the breaker box.

Do I need to run the new source wire to one switch,

From each of the dimmer switches - a 3 wire to the loop that I made to the ring of the 8 lights?

What am I missing or what's needed?

having 8 lights on a circuit is all i would put on one circuit, i always try to put no more than 8 openings on a circuit. meaning one recepticle or one light= one opening

looks like you have everything right, just make sure you wire the switches to work with each other

what size wire are you pulling from the breaker panel? i would probably use some 12/3 with ground. and how many lights are on the fans? you might consider pulling another circuit for just the fans just to stay safe

Congrats on the addition... to the house that is. I know that Eric and I are glad we had the steel roof extended over the patio. And I think Bella and Tank are in agreement as well.

Just let me know.. making ride to SAR on Saturday morning.

breaker box to the patio is a single 12/3, 20amp breaker

3 lights per fan = 6 total . . . on a 2 way switch

8 lights 50w each on 2, 3-way dimmers (can't figure out the diagram)

2 random plugs will be added for small stuff like Christmas lights

1 quad to be added for SAT TV, small 4.1 sound system, and 32-42" TV
