I have everthing to build one, I sold the turbo (brand new Garrett t3/t4) once someone showed me this one that they built and actually put in a plane.

THe problem with the turbocharger ones is they are just sooooo heavy for the power they make, never could be used to propel anything. THis one can fly an RC plane, thats what the the guy I knew that built one did. I have the book the guy wrote with all the plans and drawings and stuff. Just not enough time to finish it.

My friend built one with a Grand National turbo. He said he got the instructions for his off of eBay.

at first i was thinken wtf would you do with one? but then i seen that link where they used them as go-cart engines and that question flew out the window.

if you have a welder and some pipe peaces laying around, their not that hard to build.
i watched a tv show called junk yard wars where a guy built one in 12 hours with an afterburner.

Problem with the ones that are big enough to propel a vehicle (aka a gokart) are that they have to be huge semi turbos that suck up a cylinder of propane in a few minutes and because they are moving so much fuel the cylinder gets very cold and the propane goes from a liquid to a gas and doesnt have any pressure then.

I think the only practical use for one made with a turbo is to make noise and impress people. Thats what mine was going to do.

Propane is not the only fuel they use.
Gas, diesel, kerosene, methane.
if you watch some of the videos they have a gas can
With a hose running out of it to a pump.
i think propane is a safe way to build one
But the ones hooked up to a gas can make more thrust.
I like the ones with the afterburners on them.
