How to Paint Diamond Plate Aluminum?
I have a low profile diamond plate aluminum tool box on my truck. I know that they sell them black, but is there a good way to paint diamond plate? I seem to remember seeing many attempts with paint flaking off all over the place. Also, should any decent paint & body shop be able to do it for less than an new box would cost outright?

Honestly the best way is to powdercoat it. Aluminum is a very difficult metal to paint. Powdercoating or Aluminum Anodizing is the way to go, anodizing provides a harder surface and provides against wear better, but your limited to colors and its not very appealing to me appearance wise. So I'd think that a powdercoat would be what your looking for. Since this is being used on a toolbox you would want to look at an exterior use Powdercoat such as a polyester. Hope this helps. powdercoating shouldn't cost you too much. Or you could do the rhino lining, but after time it will fade.
