Default How to polish aluminum

Ill be doin a 3 inch turndown over the axle and i want to polish the turndown. Anyone know what compound to use and how to do it.

Aluminum and "aluminized" (as in exhaust tubing) are not the same thing.

Yes he is correct if thats what your doing. Why would you want to run an aluminum turn down. It will need to be polished back up every couple weeks, I would just get a stainless one, polish it and be done with it. Just my .02

Default I had heard of ppl polishing exhaust ..q

I know its like aluminized steel or something. Just wanted to try it.

I have a chrome one for my turn down... its visible in the wheel well... its dirty as hell in this pic but you get the idea...

Aluminized steel will polish up just like Aluminum. I used some mothers on my stock tailpipe and I'm pretty sure thats aluminized steel. Farmerbeau has seen it, he can vouch.

I wouldn't recommend polishing aluminized steel. The coating is pretty thin and you may cause premature failure if you polish it.
