I'm bored with my car...

I've decided I'm gonna buy an older car, something pre-73' so I don't have to **** with emissions and can drop whatever motor I want in it. I was thinking it'd be cool to have a 1969 Dodge Charger powered by a D-max and a T-56!

Thought about it and I've decided that having two trucks, neither of which could tow a toy-hauler wouldn't make much sense since I'd have to buy a third one eventually. I'd also be too tempted to do "minor" mods on them at first only to find myself 10-15K deep in them at some point.

im too late but my 09 cobalt ss is, imo, the perfect DD. i get 25 mpg beating the ever loving **** out of it, i tuned it with hpt and putting down around 300/300, plenty of space, decent look, great suspension, awesome price, and still under warranty.
it runs 13s around 109mph and is killer on the interstate, but the sucker is insane on some back/mountain roads. they pull like .94 on the skid pad or something stupid high.
i just love it to drive every day!

i have enough cars in my stable to do it all and honestly considering selling the SS .
since work pays for my 08 f-550 mpg isnt a concern since nothing is dd.
my dmax gets an honest 15 mpg around town driving normally, on the highway 18mpg and without the dpf it will be closer to 20 still not great but for 37's ill take it .
we have an 03 hyundai accent and it gets 30+ mpg for the little bs errands.which is why i got her a slightly used mb e55 , it actually gets decent mpg and is fast enough for me and her. it to expensive to fix to mod and its not mine so i cant . its just the perfect car for a run to vegas or whatever.
imo keep your truck to play with , buy a decent used dmax for cheap when you need to tow and then a keep your vw for DD imo.
i just wish i had a garage big enough for my dmax but it doesent get driven much anymore .

Yeah, that's my problem too Chase, I don't have the space for anything right now. One of the drawbacks of living in the heart of LA unfortunetly. If I had the space I'd keep the TDI but I can't. I think I'm gonna get another bike as a DD and see if I can't get my truck smogged so that I can use that when I need a vehicle for haulin stuff.
Love the new AMG ride though, that thing is sick! I'm sure she's glad to be out of that Cavalier or whatever it was she was driving!
