ive been driving this waverunner 1200 2001 for a couple of years now, couldnt be happier with the outcome, i mean of course its not a supercharged 4 stroke but its fast and has been working great

 

I really want to know if the 2strokes can be made to keep up with the 4 strokes. Obviously a 2stk is gonna be lighter.

im NOT saying its impossible BUT im sure its not easy... the new bombardier come with 265 hp if im not mistaken, and they are CRAZY fast, kawasaki even has one with 300hp just ive heard they are kinda big/heavy

 

Not with out doing alot of engine work. You can always swap out impellers and all to gain a few MPH, possibly exhaust. But unless you dump a ton into a old 2 stroke it's just not going to keep up with the newer powered 4 strokes. Let not forget they are supercharged, make power.

 

Good friend of my brothers has one of the new 2012 Honda turbocharged jetskis and that thing is stupid.
Cant hold on behind it trying to ski if you have a crazy driver. Dunno the top speed but it sure sounds sweet!!

 

anyone else think jet skis are lame? your friends enjoy them more than you do lol. for the first month it's ok but you can only do so many circles until it gets boring. cant fish, nowhere to put an ice chest and the patrol hates you and will pull you over for anything possible.

 

Thats why i have a 4 wheeler instead of a jet ski.. theres no where around here for us to really ride one except an hour north.

 

me too. did the jetski thing and lost interest in it very quickly.

 

Lol that's what happened with me and my quad! I literally rode it twice and ended up selling it to my cousin. He seems to be in live with it, but whatever.. just wasn't my cup of tea I guess.. Wonder if a jet ski will be different!? So a newer 4 stroke is the way to go it sounds like. Now I wonder if u can get into something decent for under 5k
