well the ls1 is trashed. pulled the cam and its chewed. looking through the cam journals i quickly realized that there is no point to pulling the bottom end apart.

my garage has NEVER been this big of a wreck!

since there was so much interest in how to flycut, i took a few pictures. it's a really brief overview, but after you figure out your piston to valve clearance, and know how much you need to cut:

tape off everything:

bring your piston to TDC:

put the cutting valves in the correct position of the head and blot it down (only 2 bolts around that cylinder necessary. lock the collar down using the feeler guages that add up to the depth that you want to cut:

Drill:

vacuum the ports of the heads to remove the majority of the metal shavings. plug up to the exhaust port and pop the valve up and down, then vacuum the intake port popping the intake valve up and down:

remove head and vacuum the rest of the metal (not much left at this point.

FINISHED PRODUCT!

If the block is junk and you don't want it I'll take it to make a table for my dads shop. And your tool will be in the mail tomorrow forgot about it.
