Thats the same reason I can't bring myself to go to a 6.0...You see 5.7 LS1's make 400+ all the time but 600+ 6.0's seem few and far between unless you spend a buttload of cash on them

the 500 rwhp ls1's have very nice parts on them so it can be the same either way but there are far more people putting money into their fbody's than people with 6.0's in trucks so there is part of the answer.

That sucks to hear. Always a bad feeling. More than likely if you heard some noise from down below the block is trash. The sleeves are so weak that if anything hits them you need new sleeves.

exactly what i was thinking. i havent cracked anything open but i expect the worse news on the bottom end. it took me an entire week, but i found a new heart. now im just crossing my fingers that my heads arent damaged. im guna pull the plugs tonight to see what they look like. the new motor should be here some time next week. here is my new 15,000 mile LQ9 from a 2005 escalade. hopefully it proves to be as tough as the old LS1.






im thinking a bigger converter, bigger cam, more compression and bigger valves may be in order...
