I sooo totally understand where you're coming from. I had a Siberian Husky for 15yrs. I got Shasta in when I lived in Calif, brought her to Tx in '95 and she passed January 2008. She's been through 2 earthquakes, 2 divorces (mine & parents), a few household moves, and couple of good hurricanes. I have her burried in my backyard and I wouldn't have it anyother way.

This is my co-driver Doug, named after Doug Nash. I got him from a shelter. He was found wandering around a highway ditch all matted and stinking in 2005, when he was about 2 or 3 years old. His first couple years are a mystery to me, but I do know he was abused. He's afraid of the fly swatter, and when my wife and I got out the cues to play pool, he peed himself and ran away. He's a hella friendly little dude, so I don't know how anyone could have hurt him. He rode all over western Canada with me when I was trucking, and having him around gave me the chance to see a lot more of the towns I was passing through. I'd walk around with him instead of just driving through. This picture was taken in the Peterbuilt while parked next to the Frasier River somewhere in the British Columbia Interior.
