Just picked up my first piece last friday...beretta 92fs, mainly for target shootin' and stuff but I'm always on the road so it's in the truck as well. The next purchase will be an xd 40, they are really nice but I wanted a full metal frame for my first gun. The springfields are nice too because the trigger pull is always the same each time you pull the trigger.

I've owned a Kimber 45, and also the XD.

I no longer own the Kimber, and will NEVER purchase another one. Over-rated, and over-priced. The XD was lighter, easier to shoot, more accurate, easier to break down & clean.......and cheaper.

I wasnt impressed with the 4 Kimber 1911s ive shot... Thats wayy to much money for a pistol.
Ive carried a XD Subcompact 40 for the past 2 years every day in a CrossBreed super tuck holster. From 40yds i can hit 8" plates 8 out of 10 rounds.
Winter time comes around i carry my XD Service 40 in the same holster.

I bought a LCP and hated it.. its a gut gun and not good for much.. Sold it and got the LCR, its a lil better but i still cant bring myself to carrying it vs the XDs.

My service model just went over the 17,000 round count and finally had a part break. it was just s simple roll pin that limits the striker. Im sure the thousands of times i dry fired it didnt help. But now i have a bag full of roll pins from SA.

Glock and Springfield Armory XDs are some of your best bets. I personally dont like the grip angle of the Glocks, but i can still shoot them very well. The XDs are more natural angle for me.

If you lived in MS i could hook you up, we are a Dealer for most them companys listed and can get really good prices.

im leaning toward the springfield pistols now. i talked to my instructor( long time gun builder& machinist) . he said that springfields use better steel with thier guns. they were always harder to cut

Springfield is where its at for a 1911. Ive got a TRP Loaded Operator and its sweet. For carry its either an XD40 or a Glock 27 for me. I love my 1911 but Im not interested in trying to conceal a boat anchor on a daily basis. Buy a Glock or XD for carry. Then buy a nice 1911 to shoot at the range.

I care an .40 sub compact xd. I love it. Light weight, very easy to disassemble. Also, you can feel the firing pin and an indicator on the top of the slide and tell if you have a round chambered and cocked. Not to mention, the bi-tone models look ****

Unless you shoot alot of cast lead bullets

the Loaded Chamber Indicator gunks up bad on mine and stays up..

not that its a problem, just saying.

I like carring my XD SC for a month and then goin out to shoot it,, lint and fuzz goes everywhere on the first shot... Yea easily amused.

Such a sexy gun

When I buy another handgun, it'll probably be one of these
