Looks like I'm getting a new truck for Christmas...
Merry Christmas to me... in the form of a totaled vehicle. So I'll be looking for a new truck over the holiday. It's not official from the insurance company yet but the body shop stopped the estimate at $14K. Book is only around $6000 on the Tahoe.
Now for the interesting part....
One thing I don't like about the integrated belt seats. The belt is only as strong as the seat.
The last ride...

RIP.
I've been checking out 01-06 tahoe/yukons on craigslist out here for when I get rid of my civic. They're dirt cheap nowadays. 4-6k and should be super easy to work on and reliable.

I'll sell you one cheap! I really liked my Tahoe but I miss having an open bed. I think I'll take the opportunity to upgrade so I'm looking for a GMT900 crew cab with a 6.2L. I want something that will tow the truck a little better for the out of town races.

I was stopped and had been for a good 10 seconds or so. I was actually about a car length back from and directly behind the Lexus which was also stopped. The Caravan in the top right of the first two pics was the one that hit us. That is where it finally stopped after the collision.

It also got into the frame and suspension. Body shop said the floor pan and roof are also suspect. Regardless, I don't think there is any way a quality fix can be done under $4500 so insurance would total it anyway. It really stinks how low the book values are on these vehicles.

I'm thinking I want to get back in a truck, but have been browsing GMT900 SUV's too.
BTW... Total loss proposal came back from insurance yesterday. It was very disappointing so needless to say we are still "negotiating" that amount.
