we bought my wife an 08 Equinox 2 years ago for $16,9. it has the 3.4 v6 unlike the new ones that have the 2.4 4 cylinder. we have 27k miles on it now and haven't had any problems with it. it averages 20 to 21 mpg and 25 to 26 on trips. it also runs 16.70 with a baby car seat and an icechest of beer

A couple things i might suggest that i have heard friends mention. When you go for a test drive take the car seat with you and put a sack of flour in it or something heavy and have her practice putting in and out of the car. I have had several friends do that to see if it is going to suck getting the kid in and out

I would say get the Acadia if you can find one in the price range. The wife has one and she loves it. I would have to say it has some ***** too. Rated at 285 hp with the V6 not too bad for a mid-sized SUV.... Also it gets decent gas mileage on the highway, we get anywhere from 21-22mpg running at 70-75mph. We have enjoyed it for roadtrips also, but only downside is the mod category...

I got my wife a new chevy Traverse, and i must say we arr morr than satisfied with this mid-size suv. It has the exact same seating as a tahoe but this one actually has cargo space in the back which the tahoe does not!! Cargo space and the mpg was our main reason picking up the traverse over any other suv..... we bought ours new this year but im pretty sure you can find a good deal on a 07+ since thats when they started making them.... either route you go, do some research on them especially on the MPG, im was really surprised what kind of shitty mpg most of the small/suvs give, and thats mid teens! For mid teens on the mpg i would of rathered buy a huge suv..lol

I rented one for a week for a roadtrip couple months back, that new 4cyl is a dog in that big tank. It can't get out of it's own way. interior was nice up front but quickly faded by the time you got to the back. It was a 11 with 10k miles and the ceiling was already falling in. The dash and gauges were awesome none the less... It had the window sticker still in it, 23k. I wouldn't give my hard earned money for that vehicle and I'm die hard chevy fan till the end.
