Two of the best, and I'll make em short as I can:
Getting marooned in Kuwait at some little FOB. Aircraft was broke, all I had was a flight suit with no rank or name tapes on it. Was hookin up with this medic 1LT. Had a Major come up to me while she and I were talking and mistake me for a LT. Wasn't gonna argue, so I impersonated for a bit, lol. 3 weeks actually. Yes, the piece of *** was well worth the risk, lol.
The other was from Iraq at the very start. No PX = no laundry soap, no razors, you get the idea. I'm walking around with a 203, my IBA and a full beard in civi's (complete with flip flops. I mean **** it, I was wrong anyway, so why not be REALLY wrong?) when a SMAG walks up and starts layin into me for my appearance. I asked if he knew who I was, he said no, so I lit a smoke and said, "Good, then you can go **** off and leave me the **** alone while I do my job". Gawd, the look on his face was ****** CLASSIC!
