like stock is a strong word with that cam but no drivability problems or stumbling.this is completly pointless but i have done cams bigger than this on a 5.3,like i said though it was a cam that was pointless and had absolutly no lowend or midrange with a little 5.3,but those individuals were thining bigger is better, when it comes to that little motor with a torque converter that is damn near stock it ran worse than stock until it got to spinnin high

haha i definately dont expect it to act stock. i wouldnt put my fiance in there and expect her to enjoy the driving experience hahaa. The rockers and pushrods are out, fans are sitting on top of the motor, radiator drained and water pump removed. All I really need to do is pull the pulley which was a pita with this asp pulley last time. It’s going pretty quick. The new 7.425 pushrods are already soaking in a bottle of oil and the cam should be here early next week hopefully.

Patrick G is the man when it comes to Gen III cams for sure. I would like your impressions of the low end when you get the cam installed. "Your 60' times will remain strong" doesn't answer the question, IMO. I want to know if it will have enough torque with that came to be fun when you goose it below 3000.

Anywho, I think you will see 11s for sure! Do you have stock heads on your LS1?

i drove my 226/226 cam with a bone stock converter for a little while and still had AWESOME low end. i could burn my 305/45/18 drag radials off still i dont expect it to change the bottom end much. but you never know until you try it. the 111 lsa and only 2* of advance will help put the power in a little lower in the rpm band. i wish i had a speedo clip of the old setup

if i do lose a little low end, but pick up some major time on the top end it wont bother me because i will eventually be spraying it out of the hole. that will fix my low end problems.

im running stage II patriot LS6 heads with a cometic .040 gasket. 11.03:1 compression.

i also remembered...ap2002 switched from the same exact 226/226 112+4 cam that i had to a 232/236 112lsa (i think)..

his 60' times did not change at all and his times were better... im not worried about losing any bottom end now that i think of it that way.
