yea those mosins shoot a pretty damn big round.

 

I'd definitely get the 870. btw my buddy bought 2 of those Saiga for 350 each a couple years back, their pretty cool.

 

Shotty hands down.

I'd go with the 870 or a mossberg 500 personally. I love my Fabarms/HK FP6, but they are near impossible to come by these days.

Thats what I have, Mossberg Defender. Should have been named Zombie Death Machine. Its awesome. 7+1, tactical reload (which the Remington 870 doesn't do iirc), cheap and options out the wazoo.

Despite what I thought, it really doesn't hurt shooting 2-3/4" rounds (00 Buck or target load) all day long.

 

you hear wrong! People are busted daily for violating it. It's the one law that they always try to nail you with black arms. DO NOT MESS WITH 922r just buy the required US parts and STAY LEGAL.

The SAIGA's are awesome but for a second gun go with the Remington. Don't screw around. That is all.

you cant beat the simplicity of a remington 870. by far my favorite shotgun, next in line the mossberg 500. just dont make the mistake i made and get an ATI stock, no recoil reduction, and the way my top folding stock rests against my cheek makes it feel like im getting punched in the face everytime i shoot it. its so uncomfortable.

 

A standard Rem 870 Xpress can be found for $150. Don't get into all the hype with "cool" looking stocks and folders, like mentioned above. The 870 is simple and strong. It never fails.

 

Scott, if youre in the market for a tactical shotgun have you looked into some of the Mossbergs? I believe they have an 835 thats pretty badass.... I duck hunt with the 835 ulti-mag with a ported barrel, double bead, vent rib, wetlands camo dipped, the works.. its a very nice piece... the tacticals use the same action and have some real nice add-ons too...
