I generally buy used cars, so I don't deal much with the factory warranty. Doesn't it seem strange that they would cover the part under the GM warranty but not the labor?

So if you buy a new car and the transmission goes out under warranty they will hand you a new transmission, but you have to put it in yourself? I don't think so.

Maybe it's me. I just don't understand why the part would be covered under the GM warranty but not the labor to put it in. If it's just me, someone explain it for me. Thanks!

I didn't understand that one either! Our lead-tech here used to work as a tech at the local dealer and he didn't think it was right...but the service guy swore to me that was the case

To explain the high cost of the other batteries you might have been looking at, they were probably AGM batteries. I know at my store, a 48AGM was around $155+core.

Anything at $100 or below that you saw was a regular lead acid battery.

Negative. They are $150ish for most of the standard batteries, and of course more for AGM.

Interstate
Autozone
Advance Auto

East Penn, pretty decent batteries IMO. I have an Interstate in my truck and it doesn't give me many problems, but after working with O'reillys for almost 3 years I don't think I'd hesitate to put a Superstart in my vehicles. The warranty % is very respectable, considering the volume of them we sell.
