Hmm I wrecked my dad's 99 Vette when I was 17....only $1500 damage, but I know what it feels like to be a dumbass.....I was doing a U-turn on a street that wasn't quite wide enough, concentrating on oncoming traffic, went off the edge of the road a little bit and there just happened to be a speed limit sign in my way.....
Steel post vs. fiberglass = $1500 for a 17-year old out of pocket = one broke-*** 17 year old.

It reminds me of when I was 16, and my friend first got his license. He side swiped a sign at near 100 and it dented the side of his mothers station wagon and put green paint on it. Solution, we went to the hardware store, bought some green paint, sprayed "**** You" on the side of the car, and told her it was vandalized while we were in the library. She still doesn't know, so don't squeal.

thats isnt the first one i have seen totalled, i really think care with alot of hp should require a speacial license to drive or at least a class be taken to learn to drive them properly. i think if its your hard earned money and you add hp to your car that makes you respect it that much more. i mean if you work for it and put your blood and sweat into it, i tihnk you would be more cautious in how you drive it.i think the father should be blamed just as much as the kid driving it. I just feel sorry for the z06 .

heheheh, did the same **** with my dad's station wagon when i was 18.
Side swiped a white picket fence and messed up the back door and trim. Came hold woke up my dad and told him someone hit it when we were at Pizza hut eating and we saw him take off. he went to the cop shop filed a report and everything, got insurance money too, never fixed the dent.
He still don't know.
I was a serious dumbass when I was younger.

I'll be crying myself to sleep tonight. Damn shame a $60-70k car died a stupid death like that.
Teenager + 500hp + 3173 lbs = totalled Z06
I like the idea of a racing liscense or at least some track days for drivers of cars and street bikes for that matter over a certain power to weight ratio. At the very least a certain number of years or hours on a track driving experience.
Punishment for the parents of a 16 y/o behind the wheel of a z06, m5, whatever. Charged with dumbassery, class A misdemeanor. Its a word, look it up.
