Thanks! It weighed 180lbs dressed. We didn't weigh an on-the-hoof weight. Our management document asks only for dressed weight.

Wow that is awesome for a low fence! Wonder if one of your high fence neighbors forgot to close the gate one night.

I feel the same way as you about the "hunting" resorts. A buddy occasionally guides hunts on one of those places and it is a joke. He said they process the deer, but don't recommend that anyone eat it because it they are so full of antibiotics, steroids & supplements. Pretty expensive dog food if you ask me.

The length measurement isnt too abnormal but damn damn you sure you didnt kill a mini moose with that spread?

Good job man, and FYI I killed my axis last March and he still isnt ready. The taneries(sp?) had a big back log, maybe you'll get lucky and they've caught up by now.

I have no clue. When we dropped the deer off, the guy said September. We talked to him again reguarding the wood type of the back plate and he said July. I like to think July.

Got any pics of said axis? I shot an axis doe when I was in high school and we had the hide tanned. It turned out to be really nice. The meat cannot be beat either. WAY tastier than whitetail!
