Just curious, why wont ranges allow FMJ? I shoot nothing but Lake City FMJ through my AR but I have 1300+ acres to shoot on. I go to the rifle range once in a blue moon.

It's hard on their berms, and there's a greater chance of a bullet skipping off or going through the berm and continuing into an unsafe area (ie houses, buildings, cattle, etc).

I understand why they do it, but it really sucks

Thats stupid. Are their berms 2ft thick? I cant get a 5.56 FMJ to go more than 6" in the dirt. Whatever.

Find you a good indoor range Scott.

I can shoot anything I want at my favorite range short of steel core bullets, and a 50 BMG. LOL.

Nothing like firing off 3" magnum slugs in an indoor range

the smaller rounds are nice but IMO, the 7.62 is the only way to go all I know is the gunsmith has taken for freakingever doing the trigger on my SKS... and FYI, the new Wolf ammo is good stuff, I've got several thousand rounds tucked away for a rainy day
