im fairly sure they`re endangered, ive seen old pics of spoonbills many times the size of the one in the picture above. unfortunately, they`re not allowed to grow to this size anymore, as with many other fish. i dont see the point in catching a fish you`re not going to eat, or release fairly unharmed. kind of like killing a deer for the antlers.

I agree whats the point if you can't put it on a plate and have people ask "you caught that?".
Looks like a funny fish, going to have to have a Spoonfish trip to try it out...

they still get that size and bigger...thats about a 55-60 pounder. i seen 4 that big caught within a matter of 6 hours one day.
