The problem is that chevy CAN build a truck like that and Blow away the competition, but they DON'T. Chaulk it up to poor management. That's part of the reason they are going under. They aren't keeping up with performance in other branches other than the Camaro and Corvette. Ford has the Lightning, Dodge has the SRT10. Chevy has the SSS... wow.. not remotely close.

x2

Doesn't matter how fast it is, it's still a bloated Camry. Then you have the high maintenance and expensive parts that go with these trucks.

GM could easily make a truck to beat those numbers, slap an LS3 and a blower in a reg. cab with a 6L80E behind it spinning a 14bsf and see which truck is faster. And then the GM would still look way better. Too bad the damn bean counters are too worried about the bottom line and global acceptance of their B level product line.

There was rumor of an LST engine a while back. Another variant of the blown 6.2l's from the factory. They squashed that when the gas prices shot up and economy tanked. That woulda been similar.

Have you ever priced out a 22" wheel and tire combo? They can be pretty expensive plus being dealer stuff its always more expensive. $1000 for a catback installed isn't bad. I paid $700 for my Corsa catback and installed it myself.

The great thing about options is you dont have to get them but they are nice that they offer them. GM could learn a few things from Toyota.
