Default Thinking about mounting gauge in overhead console

Anyone done this before? I decided that mounting the gauge in the inst cluster was gonna be too much of a bitch, and it would look cool up in my blank overhead console piece.

Basically a setup like this, but using the stock plastic piece.

The only thing I am worried about is that the plastic piece is barely curved, and the gauge is obviously flat. I am going to take a hole saw bit and put a hole in it to slide the gauge in, but how can I make it where the gauge sits flat against the plastic and not have gaps on the top and bottom.

This isn't a picture of my truck (grabbed one off google images just for reference) but this is the shape of the plastic piece in my truck

that peice isnt curved that much, i dont think there would be much of a gap between the gauge and plastic. i have thought about mounting gauges there too but dont need any more gauge right now. have you tried searching for a peice that is made for gauges to put there? i'd think somebody should make something to fill that big blank spot.

Yep, she does. I remember it's in the Member Feedback section where she's thanking Tootall for putting it in for her. I put in an overhead console and I wanted to do the exact same thing. If they don't sit completely flat you could probably fill the gap with black silicone so it'd be harder to catch your eye.

or sand in a curve by hand to match the small curve on the black piece.
