Up here in Cullman got hit pretty hard but by the looks of the pictures nothing like Tuscaloosa. I am just fortunate that all my family is ok and my house is also. I was in town today and it is just great to see all the people coming together to help each other out.

Damn 100 yards is verrrry close. Really surprising your house didn't get torn up if it was that close... I thought it was farther off then that

Good to know you're one of the good guys out there helping out, unlike the detrimental ones. Also good to hear you able to speak up for yourself obviously having some form of communication, and not just having to send to smokeshow, shows there's at least a bit of civilization left there

WOW! Richard good to see u weren't home & are doin well.
100 yds. is mighty close. Altho from your pic, I couldn't tell how your house was cause it was too far off in distance. In fact, in pic 6, there's a white vehicle next to a pine that is in center of pic. I can't even tell what kinda vehicle it is, due to all the destruction. Chrysler 300 maybe? These pics show it up close & personal. Looters & thugs -->

Way to help others out when they need it most. My hat's off to you.

Tom, this is the pic from my driveway

Cool story about that car lift shop....everyone that worked there was there that day, and when the tornado came they all hid down in the pit and were trapped in by debris, luckily they were all fine but i thought it was cool they all hid down in the pit.

Volunteer efforts are fustrating...there are a ton of volunteers around which is good, but now to do anything useful besides pass out water you need heavy equipment. Government contractors are being hired out to clear the streets so even if you have a chainsaw they are telling you to go home....and on that note, after a day or two most of the chainsaws' blades were dulled so much they werent any good.

ive been trying to volunteer and help out around birmingham but it seems like they will either tell you to go away or dont really have anything to do if you do shop up. its just so un-organized and chaotic still that its hard to get anything done.
