What do you mow with?

My company uses exmark zero turn mowers. We have gas 60", a 60" diesel and a 72" diesel. They are all great mowers and have given us very little trouble. I've also used John Deere and kubota zero turns and prefer the exmark over those.

Totally forgot about exmark, they are great mowers.

Curtis, we're pretty much in the same situation you are. Though we don't have 1/2 as much property as you, Eric is still leaning to the zero radius.
Now if I get him NOT to play 4-wheelin' on the one we have when it comes back from getting fixed. Boy and the Toys.
Ps... when you do get your Zero, come over here and practice on our lots, they sure need a little help.

There's a place in Pearland that sells Exmark. I'm planning on going by and looking at them and the Bad Boys tomorrow morning. I might also look at the Kubotas, but I really think they are a bit overpriced on their zero turns.
I really find myself going back to the Dixie's mainly because of the financing, but I do know they are a quality unit.

We both know why Scott would visit more thereafter; just as we know Mangled pays someone cause he's too lazy.
Dixie, Exmark, Gravely, Scag, are all quality machines. Both of my bro's did landscaping & those are the names I always heard. I've used my bro's smaller Deere & I love it. Nothin runs like a Deere.
It'll prolly come down to that financing, but check repair records, say like Consumer Reports. BTW, if u had a brush hog on a swing arm like road crews use, wouldn't that be safer on the slopes? But that would mean a tractor, hence, more $. I've been freaked out on slopes before, so I hear ya. :nunchuk1:
I owned a lawn service for 6 years, you need a 60+" deck zero turn. Will take half the time over a tractor and cant beat the maneuvering. I would suggest a dixie chopper, toro commercial, or scag. Also get a set of Gator blades that will offer a great cut and will pulverize debris and rocks.

I use a 2008 Deere 2320 3 cyl diesel 4x4 compact tractor.
It has a quick detach Front end loader ( worth its weight in gold) And a drive on quick attach 62'' deck.
Its built like a brick **** house and ive never had a problem with.
I mow 2.5 acres ( own 12) And it mows great/fast and Ive moved over 200 ton of fill with it.
I bought it cuz its very versatile, i was going to get a zero turn, but for a little more money i got a machine that can do it all.

Exmark is the best bar non try to find a used one with 1000 or less hours on it with a 25hp kholer and 60" deck my uncle owns a golf course and he has one with 4000hrs.You should be able to get for arund 3500.

Well, I'm leaning toward either the Dixie, Toro, or Exmark. The toro and exmark are very similar, and slightly prefer both of those over the Dixie. In the end its going to come down to what I can get the best deal and best financing offer on.
Going to have to be 48"-50ish at the max. I don't want the 60" deck cause I've got the drainage ditch running thru my prop. and want to be able to get down in it and mow without scalping and getting a nice even cut in the bottom of it.

Seriously tho, 60" would allow the job to get down that much quicker. Get a weed whacker depending on how many feet or yds drainage ditch is; if it's too much, well scratch that idea.
I know ya don't wanna scalp, but could ya get a 60" & only, (ONLY, cut on each side of the ditch on next higher setting so it doesn't scalp? Say if everything is cut on a "3" or "4" setting, just in area closest to ditch, use a "4" or "5" setting?
Psst! You'd be the only 1 who knew long as it didn't bother ya & couldn't notice. I figure you've room to store a 60" too.
I'm no landscaper, but I hate scalping. Exmark if not Dixie, IMO.
