i took my 69 Nova racecar on a trailer to my friends shop to have mufflers put on and his little worker is telling me that i have a dead miss in the car that why it idles so bad.
my friend and i were like really?
guy was like yes and your idles is too slow!
i said maybe it sounds like that b/c it has a 685 lift on the cam and it idles at 1200 so it will keep on running.
he is like no that is wrong.
my buddy and i just look at each other and laugh.
i tell him it is a 355 sbc with 225 shot on a 10.5 tire.
he tells us that his ranger with I/E can take me at the track.
i ask him what he runs?
he says like 13.25 1/8th
i ask him how many lengths he wants with me on motor?
he says lengths? i do want you to have a crutch for loosing!
i told him i would put him out 100 ft before i leave.
he said deal!
we all just laughed.
he said i am going to lunch and tried to burnout and it was horrible all i heard was clutch slipping.

good for a laugh at a car shop!

when he got out, i smiled & said, "man, it sounds like you got a little bit of a vacuum leak there." he just kinda laughed. turns out he's actually got a vacuum pump for that cam on his 402
