I walk up to them and start talking...
Me: You guys racing tonight?!
Them: Whatchya got
Me: silverado with a 5.3
Them: we got some 5.3's that'll run ya
Me: cool, what all mods do they have?!
Them: CAI, TB spacer, flowmasters, and a hypertech
Me: well i have 2 other buddies that'll run ya. The big white tahoe over there and the white regular cab with a cam 4.8

long story short... Garret and Justin (GS7793 and 2007chevy5.3l) went out and whooped every truck they brought haha

get back from running...

Them: WTF do those things have in them...
Us: Tahoe is 5.3L with headers and a tune, Truck is a 4.8L cam, headers, tune
Them: you mean like a superchips tune
Us: No, custom tune like HPT or EFI live

They had no idea what that was and the main guy in their group owned a shop and worked on all the trucks. We were sure to ask which shop it was to make sure no one EVER goes there. haha






Or when you go to any parts store to buy plugs, gaskets, etc. and they don't have the part for your 5.3L so you ask them to look up the same part except for an LS1 or 4.8 and they say those parts won't work for your vehicle

 

Guess I don't get the joke, since Down Syndrome is an extra 21st Chromosome...

 

Only stupid questions I have been asked is "Does your truck have the police Tahoe chip" or "Do you have a throttle body spacer"

 

I've had people ask me if my truck was turbocharged because of the tb spacer. Also been asked if it was a ford even with all the badging still on it. Had one guy ask me if i put a vette motor in it cause he heard I put a vette servo in it.

 

Not my experience but a good one none the less. Buddy of mine sent his wife to the parts store to get a carb. stud. (Mind you, she knows a thing or two about cars). Anyways, she can't find them on the shelf and instead of wasting time, asks for help in narrowing her search. Conversation:

Her: "Where would I find a carburetor stud for mounting an air cleaner?"
Clerk: "What kind of car"
Her: "..........Mustang"
Clerk: "What year"
Her: "..........69
Clerk: "What Engine?"
Her: "331. You won't find it in your little list there. It had a 302 originally, but that doesn't matter. See, we are changing the air cleaner setup because we just pulled the blower off and we're going back to nitrous; A dual stage setup! I just need a carb stud. The longest one you have."
Clerk: "Ohhhh"
Her: "So where might I find that carb stud???"
Clerk: "Ummm, help section maybe"
Her: "Thanks!"

She said she wanted to play along as long as she could but just couldn't take for more than a couple of questions. Haha!

 

he said that we are all one chromosome away from having downs. normally you have 13 pairs of chromosomes, the extra copy of the 21st, would be the one that people without downs dont have. It was funnier before having to explain it.
