Default where to buy dowel rods for cam swap?

Where can I pick some up?

How long do they have to be and what size? wood or metal?

Ace hardware or any building supply store.
Longer than your cam of course, about as big around as your pinky is fine. Wood's cheaper.

They need to be 3/8 diameter, wood dowels is easiest to work with. You need to sand a flat edge on the dowel until it just fits snugly in the the oil galley. If it fits loosely then your really doing the Russian roulette way, as the lifter can still fall out.

3/8 that's it. if you were around here i'd give you a couple. I have like 4 of em that are 3ft long

I have always used 5/16 wooden dowels. 3/8 wouldnt fit. I have never had a problem with the 5/16.

I used pen magnets but when u buy the decent sized ones that dont break as easy it gets kinda pricey in my opinion for something u'll use a handful of times haha
