I need a spare key for my avalanche and checked with the dealer and they wanted $45 for a damn key. Have any of you purchased them online, if so, where?

They have a transponder on the newer ones, just depends on the year.

My local dealer can cut a key for me(from the key code) and I can mail it to you. Send me a pm if you're interested, I can save you some cash.

I have an 07. I have found some places online for $16-25, but I don't know how reputable they are.

You need to go to the dealer to get it programmed anyway unless you just want it to unlock your doors.
