You cant cram for every test. Been there, tried that.
If u have 4 months start now. Find the book read it, do the quizes. I often verbalize a lot of the **** im reading, seems to help retain them. Especially picky stuff like 100+ drug names etc.
Read it, understand why it works like it does. There are also ways to read stuff that makes u repeat, like read chapter one today. Tomorrow, read chapter 1 and 2. Then 123 the next day, then 234 the next day , then 345 each day, so each chapter, or section is hit. I dont like it, I like to go in order, straghtforward.

When I had a lot of material to cover, reading and stuff, I would always read my notes/texts, write down what I thought was important. Writing would always help, because that's what I would be doing on the exam. I'd write out 4 or 5 sets of notes, then read through them all, continually. That way if I missed a piece of info on one set, I'd get it on another. Worked very well for me throughout school.
