They started idling some ethanol plants a month or two ago because corn prices were going up. I would expect the cost of ethanol to continue going up for the rest of this year and most of next.

Within a week or two of them announcing the idling of the E85 plants the price of E85 went from .70 cheaper than 87 to only .20-.30 cheaper.

I just filled up with E85 today for $3.799 a gallon, which doesn't compare too bad with premium going locally for $4.049 to $4.499.

The big benefit of E85 in Oregon is that you get a fifty cent per gallon credit toward your state income tax, on the first 400 gallons you buy per year. That makes it pencil out cheaper per mile than premium for me, and the truck runs HARD on the higher octane of E85. Given Oregon's budget problems, though, I don't expect they'll renew the tax credit for next year.
