A tailgate lock will be better than the jimmy jammer. It isnt full proof. installed them on my doors after the first time my truck was stolen. 4 months later got broken into again, They must have beat the **** outta my keyhole to knock the jimmy jammer outta place, but it worked and they got in.. it might work better for the tail lights but idk.. Just know if you own anything nice, It will never be safe with all the piece of **** thieves out there..

ooh ok. My bad. And ya it sucks about my truck. Im just glad the first time it was found shortly after it was stolen so they didnt have to long to do to much to it, and the 2nd time they couldnt start it since i got my new alarm, so they got the quickest thing they could grab, which was my in-dash Navi.

Lower you tailgate and loosen the hose clamp completely. Wrap the hose clamp around the tailgate hinge ( this is where you would lift the tailgate to remove it after removing the tailgate arms) and tighten the clamp down till the slack is taken up. Rotate the clamp so the head is now facing down and come from underneath with a long screwdriver to finish tightening the clamp. Snip off the excess of the clamp, close your tailgate.
It's not theft-proof, but will deter the dumber thieves who are in a hurry.
