while this is tragic, something as bad or much worse is actually happening right now somewhere... just think of all of the foriegn countries that dont publicize this type of ****, or have the laws and means to stop this type of ****.

I say kudos to the officer who picked up on the little nuances that brought this dirtbag to justice.....If she hadn't, this poor girl would still be imprisoned in his backyard.....

This case really hits home for me....literally. Garrido's house is located in my hometown. Antioch, CA has never been in the national spotlight before and it's unfortunate my hometown had to make an entrance like this. Makes me sick to think this.

as a person who lives in Waco, Texas and likes living here(i have all my life) i can understand how 1 bad event can smear a city's image for a long time nationally. sad ****.

well, no offense to the guy above, but antioch is not the nicest of areas to begin with. Its nothing compared to richmond/oakland, but it has a few sketchy areas.

Yeah, Antioch has changed dramatically in the past 10 years for the worse. It still has some decent areas but they are fading away quickly. It just sucks to have all this news attention at home.
