97 S10 SS 4.3X automatic stepside needs body TLC
I have a 97 chevy S10 SS 2WD automatic 4.3V6 121k miles i have owned since it had 52,000 miles. This is a original SS in 97 they only made 1487 of these only about 400 were white and probly less than 100 had a stepside with dark blue interior. It has the ZQ8 suspension 33mm sway bar on the front 23mm on the rear. rear "anti hop shock" and also factory 1.5" lowered.
I have had the truck for 4 & 1/2 years and done some extra work to it. here is a list of parts and when i put them on
K&N cold air intake with a extra filter 58k
TD throttle body spacer 102k..
New water pump 80k..
Accel cap & rotor 102k..
belden plug wires 102k..
E3 spark plugs 102k miles..
Proform underdrive pulleys 102k..
Gates belt 102k..
Spintech muffler 110k..
mobil 1 trans flush 102k..
royal purple gear oil 102k and mobil 1 at 119k with a new diff cover
Energy suspension poly links and bushings 121k
I have used valvoline full synthetic since the truck had 52k on it and i have done every oil change myself. I am a master certified mechanic and have taken the best of care with this truck the only things I haven't fixed is:
the fuel gauge doesn't work I usually just top it off every 200 miles. could just need a ground fixed or the sending unit replaced.
the oil cooler lines are wet but not leaking much. I have brand new ones that just need installed.
the transmission has a P1877 code there is a solenoid that commonly goes bad on these lo al shop quoted me 300$ to fix.
truck has the usual s10 cab corner rust I have new panels to fix but no time to install. the wheel arches on the bed are rusted thru I have the panels to repair them as well. I had full intentions of fixing the body and repainting but my dad recently got sick and I don't have the time anymore.
has a aftermarket sony head unit with a amp hookup behind the seat no system in there thou.
front tires are about 80% rear are 20%
The truck gets about 18-19mpg city and 22ish highway runs great super fun to drive has 3:43 gears limited slip
just changed the oil this weekend and installed the new sway bar gear on the front will get it aligned this week.
starting price at 2500$ I've got bills I need to pay from time off work being with dad so I'm open to offers PM me on here.
I'm not trying to hide anything I've told you everything I know about the truck so if you have any questions or want more pics let me know and I'll do what I can thanks.
