Default WTB: Roller or blown engine/trans chassis

Looking for a truck to stick my spare engine and trans into. Trans is 4x4, so if thats whats blown, I like it to be a 4x4 (will take a 2wd though). Truck also preferred, but I'll take an SUV too. I'll take it with blown, or missing all together, would prefer it come with harness and PCM though.

Needs to be in the greater chicagoland area... wisconsin, northern IL.. etc.

Ideally I'd be buying in Feb/March, obviously in no hurry.

Depends what I find, where, and when. I'd love to pick up a work truck for like a grand, but I wouldn't object to an LT extended cab for like 3K or so.

Safe bet that transport costs would put it out of my budget and I located an LT1 camaro that I'm pretty excited by.

thats possible, guy interested from houston said it would be around 800 to get it to him.

Good luck with that LT1 car, I absolutely hated my buddy's 94 camaro and was beyond happy when he finally sold it, such a pain to work on with the opti and tight strut towers.

Yeah, quotes to ship a non-op from Kansas to here were about the same, so you'd need to be willing to let it go in the $2000 area. Not likely I'd imagine.

I've got a couple buddies that recently picked up LT1 cars (We respectively each have a maggied 2004 GTO, cammed and stalled 1999 WS6, and cammed 2006 GTO in our past but we have kids and need cheaper toys.. lol). The trick is to decide that if anything goes wrong, you're willing to pull the motor and do some major upgrades. Personally I'll be looking seriously at a 5.3 swap if anything should happen, seeing as the point of this thread is having a cammed engine ready on a stand..
