Default thinking about tune or diablosport

so im looking into some sort of tuning. i know in reality i should just get a real tune like blackbear, nelsons, or wheatley but i was lookin into the predator programmer due to it bein reasonable and getting rid of tq management n abuse mode. thing is i was told not to insrease any line pressure in the trans reguarding a tune or programmer...is this true? i mean i want hardest shifts possible without messin up my trans. i have a transgo hd2 shift kit with 2 spacers in the accum. n its just not hard enough...but the shop that did my SK said not to have any line pressure boosted or itll hurt the trans...do yall think this is true? if not can i run diablos firm shift point setting with my SK or would it harm it? and is there anything else i need to be aware of?

thanks for ur help

tj

you think hard shifting is gonna make your truck faster? let the electronics do there job in the trans, theres some tuners that will bump the pressure slightly but i wouldnt reccomend it unless youre on a fully built tranny, hell i run stock tranny pressure on my built tranny, personally go with a live wheatley, nelson or blackbear tune, theres others but those are sponsers of the site thus being reccomended

mt bad i see diablo sport is a sponser also, hmm doesnt nelson write the tunes for them?

diablo sport $300-400

tune by BB or Wheatley $250-350

Well i originally had a DS and now have a real tune don't waste your time and money and as far as line pressures u don't want to jack with them too much especially on a stock trans chirping your tires between shifts doesn't make your truck any faster

thanks for the help guys and yeah nelsons makes tunes for them...thats why i didnt know what to do lol, on FSC alot of the members reccomended nelsons etc...i found vengeance on my own but i didnt know how good they are (even tho all their rides r sick lol) but yeah i just dont know what to do. and as for the shifts...even with the shift kit its just a pause and its really not that firm...i just hate the hesitation it has even tho im sure thats mostly TM. n i was jw since i can get a diablosport for 150 n then the 100 to unlock it. i know ull get more out of a custom i was just thinking with the diablo i can go bk n fourth to when i have to run emissions n all ya know? here in ill. its total bullshit so i need to be able to go from modified to stock...speakin of that my cats have to go back on...

If we're talking 01 silverado here, yes, the Predator comes with FULL trans control, shift points, pressures, quickness, and you can even reprogram all the tow haul settings if you like.

Nelson has our CMR software too and can do custom tunes to load in the Predator as well...

Its up to you.

If you feel like you want to add a bit more firmness to your current shifts, go for it.

For the most part, line pressure is your friend. Stock, sloppy shifts kill trannys

You can disable all TM on your 01 model, although we do leave the upshift abuse mode turned on in our tunes, as it leads to better shift feel in the trucks, but if you like it off, go for it.
