Default 145 amp alt question

do you guys know what years the 145 amp alternator was put stock on the 1500 chevy/gmc trucks? i lookin for a 145 amp to put on my truck, to go with the electric fans. i was thinking they started coming on the 05- up when the efans started coming on them stock. also is it a direct bolt up to my 99 with my 105 amp alt?

yeah 05 and up, or earlier suburbans. You need an earlier one for it to plug right it, try an 03 surburban and tell them you want a 145 amp. I had a thread on this as well, if u look through my started threads...

I know in 2004 they had 130-145 amp alts that came in some of the bigger vehicles, AVALANCHE, Yukon/tahoe etc.

I found you a 130 amp direct bolt on delco for $98.50 at dbelectrical.com.

Look at that site and you will find it. 130 is more than enough unless you have a very powerful subwoofer system.

My dad has a 1998 show truck and I ordered him a new alt from that site and it works perfectly. The original he had went out as the truck just sits in the garage and never used.

If you are wanting a 140-145 give them a call I am sure they have one.

Link

So try an 03 suburban 2500, looks like what I used. should bolt right up, although I think you need a longer belt as well.

Yep, need a longer belt. The stock one is so close but no fit.

The alternator type you're specifically looking for is a AD244, with a 4 Pin connection. I don't believe we have a vendor specifically for Alternators here, so take a look at this link as it explains the AD244 as a 105 replacement.

GM AD230 to AD244 Alternator upgrade

Hope this helps.
