? about tcc lock up
Hey guys I am just getting started on this tuning stuff, I was reading on the HPT web site and found this: (TCC Lock During Shift: This switch determines if the TCC will remain locked during a shift. Note: This is extremely hard on the transmission and the TCC (if you enable this expect things to break).
in the help section. I looked at the stock tune and it was enabled. I was just wondering is this normal, where should I put it enable/disable. I just spent way too much money on this truck to kill the transmission right now. I know its coming I just need it to last a little while.

It is normal for it to be enabled in the stock tune. I don't know what is best, but I have left mine enabled up to this point and have not experienced any problems. Of course when and where it actually stays locked during a shift is still dependent on the TCC lock/unlock settings vs. the shift settings.

The stock setting for min TC lock PWM is way soft.
In the stock calibration there is a LOT of slip allowed due to the low min PWM values.
This gives sort of a semi engaged TC clutch, way different to the performance oriented 90 PWM setting recommended.
Having the "lock during shift" flag set to ON with a performance tune (for example min 90 PWM) is most likely a bad idea.
I have done it by mistake, reflashed the correction after first lock up!!!
It felt like "call the trans guy for a replacement" kind o shift.
