I decided it would be a cheap investment to put it onto my truck and got a bung welded in directly after the header collector. Installed everything and started the truck up. It appears to work for a few seconds then goes full lean.

New sensor, damn, so not that great of a deal. Get the new sensor in and install and THE SAME **** HAPPENED! Ahhh so mad.

So it must be a wiring issue. I did a continuity test on all the wires and they all checked out. I changed the power wire so it's wired directly to the battery and still nothing.

Anyone have any great input? I've Googled the **** out of the issue and haven't come across anyone who has gone as far as doing a continuity test to test the wiring. Some people have changed sensors with success and others have still had issues.

You don't have to calibrate the AEM setups.

Maybe in the long period of time that it sat around it got banged up for something and is actually damaged?

Have you driven with it to see if it ever comes back into range or is this only being checked at idle?
Yeah I've driven for a few hours without it changing.

I did everything to spec with the instructions. The sensor is at about a 40 degree angle .

I have not checked for it getting hot and to be honest I didn't check the ground I dont think. Good call brother.

The ground is the most important part of the functionality of a wideband in my experience

how about going through the calibration procedure listed in the instructions, and yes there is a calibration procedure.

I hooked the power and ground directly to the battery and it went full lean within about 10 seconds. For those 10 seconds I was pretty happy. Oh well

Area47,

I went through this:

Only thing I found was something with the screw on the back. I will mess with that?

No there isn't. The instructions list calibration changes for their standalone system and you can calibrate outputs and whatnot, but there is no calibration for the function of the wideband and gauge.

Each AEM UEGO sensor is individually calibrated and a resistor integral at the connector body is laser trimmed with this value. This process replaces the traditional “free air” calibration procedure when changing sensors and implements a sensor specific calibration for unparalleled accuracy.

Maybe I'm missing something?

in the instructions when i put in my aem uego, it stated upon first key cycle leave the sensor out of the exhaust to calibrate the heater and such things. im just going off what i did with mine and what the instructions stated. it's not an uncommon deal to have a bad gauge setup either.
