AEM uego wideband is PISSIN ME OFF
#11
Alright,
So I picked up a used AEM UEGO wideband from a good buddy for cheap as hell. I know FOR SURE it worked in his Grand National because I helped him wire it up. He sold the GN and the part sat forever. It was used for maybe a month.
I decided it would be a cheap investment to put it onto my truck and got a bung welded in directly after the header collector. Installed everything and started the truck up. It appears to work for a few seconds then goes full lean.
New sensor, damn, so not that great of a deal. Get the new sensor in and install and THE SAME **** HAPPENED! Ahhh so mad.
So it must be a wiring issue. I did a continuity test on all the wires and they all checked out. I changed the power wire so it's wired directly to the battery and still nothing.
Anyone have any great input? I've Googled the **** out of the issue and haven't come across anyone who has gone as far as doing a continuity test to test the wiring. Some people have changed sensors with success and others have still had issues.

I have one brand new out of the box doing the same dam thing!!! just got an innovate Lm2 to make sure its not an exhaust leak or something then I will be contacting AEM...
So far this unit seems like a big steamy pile of turd...

Have you contacted AEM? In my experience they are pretty helpful. Did you mount the sensor in the orientation that the instructions say to? I wouldn't imagine that's the problem though, especially with a new sensor having been tried as well.
You don't have to calibrate the AEM setups.
Maybe in the long period of time that it sat around it got banged up for something and is actually damaged?
Have you driven with it to see if it ever comes back into range or is this only being checked at idle?

I did everything to spec with the instructions. The sensor is at about a 40 degree angle .

Area47,
I went through this:

Only thing I found was something with the screw on the back. I will mess with that?

Each AEM UEGO sensor is individually calibrated and a resistor integral at the connector body is laser trimmed with this value. This process replaces the traditional “free air” calibration procedure when changing sensors and implements a sensor specific calibration for unparalleled accuracy.
Maybe I'm missing something?

in the instructions when i put in my aem uego, it stated upon first key cycle leave the sensor out of the exhaust to calibrate the heater and such things. im just going off what i did with mine and what the instructions stated. it's not an uncommon deal to have a bad gauge setup either.
