Default backyard wiring: ls1 pigtails on 05 fans.

i have a set of ls1 fans i was going to put on my truck, but found a deal on the factory fans and went that route. gm wants 73 dollars for EACH connector. i cant find them any cheaper than 30 online.
none of the junkyards around here would sell me pigtails or even the whole relay box. they want to sell the entire harness, which is understandable. they are in business to make money.

i took the standard gm fan connector and removed the rubber seal and they will firmly fit onto an 05+ factory fan like a champ. this may not the 100% correct method, but it will keep my truck on the road until i score a set of the right connectors. clutch fan went out and i had to get them on. better than using 4 female connectors, IMO.

just a tip. maybe everyone already knows but me.

EFI Connection, LLC - Welcome to www.eficonnection.com
This place has almost all of gm ls connectors, and is pretty cheap.

EFI Connection, LLC - Item Details
there is a link to the connectors. still a little rich for my blood at 22.50(price break) for a single connector. i packed them with dielectric grease. im gonna leave mine as is, even though some might think its a hack job.

I try to share the good things I find. The couple of connectors I have bought from them were exact replacements and fit perfect, and they have good wire and pcm pins too.

So buy the entire harness and strip it apart. I bought the harness from the dealer and the proceeded to tear apart for what I wanted.

way more than the salvage yard will charge.

Cost me $270 from dealer. It's not the cheap route.
