Default Best handheld or tuning software for a '05 GMC Sierra 4.8?

I have a friend who has a '05 GMC Sierra 4.8 and he wants to buy a tuner/programmer for it. I'm sure a custom tune would be better, but I'll talk with him about that. As far as a handheld, what is the best one out there for what he has?

I can't speak for the handhelds, but he can get a tune from one of the site sponsors, which would probably be better overall.

I went through Charlie Wheatley and my truck is running great!

Im with the other guys, as I can see that you already know, custom is the way to go.

I have had a superchips, and it was ok, I did notice some gain, not really worth the money though, and I tried a dialbo, better than the superchips but still kind of suckish compared to custom.

Wheatley sounds like he has a good reputation around here or get EFI Live or HPTuners and learn to tune yourself.
